Job Summary and Description
Provides master level work in the installation, maintenance, and service of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems. Responsibilities include overseeing, maintaining and repairing all District HVAC/R systems. Specific duties include repairing, rebuilding and replacing bearings; operating centrifugal water chillers and pumps; maintaining energy management systems; repairing variable frequency drives; maintaining water treatment controllers, motors, heat exchangers, air conditioning compressors, heating boilers, ventilation and air conditioning systems; ordering and maintaining inventory. Additional duties include providing leadership, coaching, teaching, mentoring and craft specific technical guidance.

QualificationsMinimum Education and Experience:
- High School or GED.
- Eight years of experience as a licensed HVAC technician, to include three as a supervisor or work leader.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Specialized or technical training in the HVAC field.
- More than eight years of experience.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver license. Must be insurable through the organization’s insurers.
- Must have a valid Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) Contractor’s License, A or B endorsement or a City of San Antonio HVAC Master’s License and a recognized and approved Universal EPA Refrigerant Recovery License, which must be kept current at all times.
Motor Vehicle Report is required in addition to background check and drug screen
