Job Description:
Provides enterprise-wide technical support for IBM MQ on the mainframe platform.
Duties will include;
- Software maintenance
- MQ configuration
- MQ administration
- MQ Security and Governance
The role will includes providing on-call support on a rotation basis and will at times require work outside of normal business hours to support critical tasks
Responsibilities:
- Participates in IBM MQ administration and configuration, general MQ product support, disaster recovery support, MQ Security configuration, on-call support, and End User support.
- Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; may manage moderately complex project and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations.
- Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities as a team member or as an individual contributor.
- Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants or managers
- Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of various factors.
- Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.
- Work leadership may be provided by assigning work and resolving problems.
- May assist and help train lower level analysts.
Required Skills:
7-10+ Years relevant experience
Significant experience with MQ Clusters and MQ shared queues.
Experience with automation and monitoring concepts and tools.
Strong working Knowledge of IBM MQ concepts and other associated IBM components/facilities:
- MQ Objects and MQ subsystems
- Backup and recovery
- Logging and archiving
- TLS and certificates
- RACF
- SDSF
- MVS JCL
- TSO/ISPF
- Strong leadership and communication skills both written and verbal are required
Desired Skills:
SMP/e, REXX, Python, ACF2 and zOSMF is desirable
