Summary
Under immediate supervision, provides administrative and fiscal support for federal, state and local grant programs; maintains grant budget records; prepares and submits required grant reports and performs related duties as required.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Maintains fiscal documentation for grants and assists with preparation of grant expenditure and revenue budgets and estimates;
- Gathers information, prepares and submits grant reports to various granting agencies in accordance with grant requirements
- Coordinates with offices and departments to gather data needed to write grant applications
- Assists with development of abstracts, program descriptions and performance measures for grant programs
- Provides administrative support to the Grants Manager
- Provides administrative support to various grant-related committees and the grant program
- Performs related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications

- Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or closely related field, and one (1) year of experience in accounting, grants or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in grants monitoring, accounting or related field
- Must have good knowledge of basic office practices and procedures
- Must have good knowledge of English spelling, grammar and punctuation;
- Knowledge of general office procedures
- Skill in operating word processing (Microsoft Word), and database or spreadsheet software packages (Microsoft Excel)
- Skill in operating personal computer, typewriter, 10-key adding machine and basic office equipment; skill in applying rules of grammar, spelling and punctuation; skill in organizing, compiling and recording information accurately; skill in completing tasks effectively and efficiently; skill in performing basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals utilizing tact and diplomacy; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, outside agencies, contractors, County employees and the general public
- Must have valid Texas driver's license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance; or have a self-reliant source of transportation to conduct business on a daily basis
- Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
- Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
- May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
- May be required to work weekends
- Generally working in indoor conditions
- Occasionally moves items weighing up to 10-15 pounds
- Occasionally moves about the office
- Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
- Generally operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Positions self to perform essential functions
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
