Install and maintain IT related equipment standardized on Cisco switches and routers, HP/Dell servers and Dell laptops and notebooks. Work with team members to resolve any software or hardware related user issues.

Duties And Responsibilities

Install, administer and maintain IT related equipment

Ensure installation and configuration of servers is done according to established guidelines. Make recommendations for improving configurations and guideline changes for servers. Monitor and maintain all IT related equipment to guarantee maximum availability to the organization. Install and maintain business applications running on Windows servers.

Projects and Initiatives

Research and implement projects and initiatives as determined by the IS Management Team. Ensure timely completion of all projects and initiatives. Engage and manage outside vendor and contract resources as required. Complete all required documentation in accordance with established guidelines.

Research and Training

Pursue training and educational opportunities. Research and study trends, market shifts, and news related to our business and technology. Expand knowledge of the business in general and understand the concerns of the business not necessarily related to IS.

Network Infrastructure

Monitor and respond to network related issues in a timely manner. Install and maintain network related equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, IPS/IDS, etc. according to established guidelines. Make recommendations for improving the reliability and performance of the network.

Help Desk

Monitor helpdesk overflow and supplement the helpdesk as needed. Work with helpdesk staff and Network Administrators to complete 2nd and 3rd level calls in timely manner. Engage and manage outside resources as needed to ensure the completion of 3rd level calls.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education/Certifications

BA in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field. Industry standard certifications from Microsoft (MCSA, MCSE) and Cisco (CCENT, CCT) are a plus.

Experience

4 years’ experience directly related to administering Windows Server and Active Directory. 2 years’ experience with LAN\WAN implementations and troubleshooting Cisco switches and routers. 2 years’ experience with HP or Dell servers. Experience administering firewalls is a plus. Experience administering Microsoft 365 is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent troubleshooting skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows services including DNS, DHCP, DFS, etc. Demonstrated willingness and ability to interface with various internal and external business associates. Must possess valid driver’s license.

Abilities

Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of associates and consultants ranging from entry level to executive level positions. Ability to manage and coordinate the work of technical consultants and/or contractors. Ability to analyze complex software problems and devise creative and effective solutions. Ability to manage multiple tasks, often with competing deadlines.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manage external contractors and resources as needed.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Light physical effort. Requires standing, sitting, walking, talking, seeing, hearing, fine dexterity, and handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds.

Expectations

Must be self-motivated and willing to take on new challenges. Ability to solve problems with creative solutions. Must be able to work well in a team environment.
