About IPSD

Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary:

Are you ready to play a crucial role in a dynamic team at Caterpillar in San Antonio, Texas? As a Logistics Coordinator II, you’ll be at the heart of our logistics operations, supporting the team in ensuring smooth shipping and receiving processes. Your key responsibilities will include accurately recording and processing inventory adjustments using our state-of-the-art tools and software, all while maintaining a safe work environment.

In this exciting role, you will report to section managers and collaborate across various departments to meet both customer and company demands. What you will do:

  • Pick and tag materials according to ordered quantities

  • Load and unload inventory into trucks

  • Perform SAP transactions

  • Utilize SAP knowledge for daily tasks

  • Assist with inventory management and accuracy

  • Generate and close IPLs and miscellaneous IPLs as needed

  • Operate assigned powered industrial trucks in your area

  • Fill in for other team members as required

  • Train new team members as needed

  • Complete necessary activities to ship and receive products

  • Be responsible for functional area PQVC metrics

  • Follow facility safety policies

  • Ship and receive parts

  • Verify invoices to ensure inventory accuracy

  • Ensure that materials received and delivered are free from quality defects

  • Re-pack and arrange parts for warehouse storage or delivery to the assembly area

  • Operate PIT equipment (e.g., tuggers, pack mules, sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts) to move materials within the facility

  • Submit and assist with the resolution of CPS Continuous Improvement cards

  • Follow standard operating procedures and area-specific work instructions

  • Provide information to supervisors and managers about processes within the assigned area

  • Perform all other duties as assigned

What you will have:

  • Experience in operating a sit-down forklift

  • Intermediate computer skills

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English

  • Ability to research inventory, locate material, and perform inventory transactions

  • Ability to confidently perform a defect walk back, familiar with facility layout, and can reconcile inventory tracking system

  • Ability to read pick lists, comprehension of the concepts of standard work.

  • Ability to perform transactional data entries in accordance with standard work.

What would make you a top candidate:

  • Strong customer service/contact experience, communication, multi-tasking, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in logistics/supply chain

  • Capable of working independently

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical skill

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time

  • Ability to perform repetitive operations

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Additional Information:

  • $18.50 per hour starting payrate

  • Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

  • Overtime required, as business needs
