About IPSD

Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary:

Are you ready to make a difference in the world of heavy machinery? Caterpillar is seeking a dynamic MRO Crib Attendant to join our team in San Antonio, TX! The MRO Crib Attendant supports maintenance and production operations by managing inventory, distributing maintenance parts and supplies, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring proper storage and organization of MRO materials. This role is critical to supporting operational uptime through responsive customer support, accurate inventory control, and timely processing of materials while maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards.

What you will do:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting maintenance and production personnel with locating, identifying, and requisitioning MRO parts and supplies while maintaining a professional, responsive, and team-oriented approach

  • Disburse and track all issued parts and materials using approved inventory management systems and sign-out procedures

  • Verify quantities and condition of all issued and returned inventory items

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and complete inventory adjustments or miscellaneous transaction documentation as required

  • Receive incoming deliveries, verify packing slips and documentation, and report shortages, overages, or discrepancies to the Analyst or Supervisor

  • Stock incoming parts and supplies into designated storage locations including cabinets, racks, and vertical storage systems

  • Create and maintain storage locations, labels, and bin assignments for new inventory items

  • Utilize FIFO (First In, First Out) practices for shelf-life-controlled materials such as chemicals and consumables

  • Process and prepare materials for vendor repair or outside service when required, including completing packing slips and shipment documentation

  • Perform inventory cycle counts and submit completed documentation in a timely manner

  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas through daily 5S activities

  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, lifting carts, and electric walk-behind lifts in a safe and efficient manner when authorized or certified

  • Support continuous improvement and other operational initiatives as assigned

  • Perform additional duties assigned by leadership

What you will have:

  • Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, maintenance, or inventory environment preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret part numbers, process documents, and inventory records.

  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Ability to learn and utilize inventory management systems, including MAMM.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Strong customer service mindset.

  • Ability to follow safety procedures and standard operating practices.

What would make you a top candidate:

  • Previous MRO crib or inventory control experience

  • Previous forklift operating experience or forklift certification

  • Experience with cycle counting and inventory control processes

  • Familiarity with automated storage systems

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods of time

  • Ability to perform repetitive movements including bending, reaching, and lifting

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs

  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm. Overtime as required.

Summary Pay Range:

$18.50 - $21.50
