Job Summary
Under general direction, is responsible for scheduling and maintaining court calendars, and dockets for the Municipal Court courtrooms. Exercises technical coordination of designated staff. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment. May exercise direct supervision over assigned staff.

Work Hours
7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday`. Will require occasional Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.Essential Job Functions

- Creates and maintains the courtroom calendars and dockets for Municipal Court courtrooms.
- Develops, coordinates and manages the schedules for Judges and assigned staff for the courtrooms.
- Interprets and formulates court policies and procedures.
- Communicates policies, procedures, and objectives of management to employees.
- Coordinates with other organizations to ensure availability of appropriate support in courtrooms; collaborate closely with courtroom clerks and juvenile case managers in a courtroom setting.
- Coordinate referrals to community partners and ensure compliance with court orders and youth diversion agreements and communicates with referred individuals monitoring compliance with court orders.
- Assists with the preparation of correspondence for defendants with unique situations.
- Manage, schedule, and supervise the Teen Court Program; expunge diversionary court records when the individual reaches 18 years of age.
- Monitors the orderly flow of the public throughout the court.
- Responds to and resolve sensitive inquiries from both internal and external sources.
- Maintain and report statistical data on case intakes and filings for children alleged to have committed misdemeanors punishable by fine only (excluding traffic offenses), including tracking each diversion strategy implemented.
- Manages emergency situations that arise in the courtrooms; contacts outside agencies (i.e. EMS, SAPD, etc.) when necessary.
- Oversees the correction of erroneous information updated into the Case Management System.
- Reviews National Crime Information Center, Texas Crime Information Center, Texas Department of Public Safety (NCIC/TCIC/DPS) databases for criminal histories, warrant records and driving records.
- Updates NCIC/TCIC databases with warrant records and conviction records reported to DPS.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Two (2) years of court clerk or administrative experience in the field of court administration, magistration, detention, law enforcement or criminal justice, with one (1) year of supervisory experience.
- Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A & B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and Family Violence Convictions.
- Experience with diversionary programs.
- Experience with development and retention of data and databases.
- Experience working with community partners and resources.
- Experience with expungement of court records.

- Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

- Knowledge of court procedures and case flow management.
- Knowledge of indigency requirements.
- Knowledge of pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, ordinances, statutes, and regulations.
- Skill in operating a personal computer and utilization of general office and criminal justice software.
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other basic office equipment.
- Ability to develop, implement, and administer goals, objectives, and procedures for providing effective and efficient services for the City.
- Ability to perform detailed and difficult administrative duties and use independent judgment and personal initiative in the performance of assigned duties.
- Ability to provide administrative and professional leadership and direction to subordinate staff.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and officials, other government officials, community groups, and the general public.
