Job Summary
Under general direction, is responsible for administrative and supervisory work formulating and coordinating community programs. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff.

Work Hours
10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.; Monday – Friday (shifts vary); alternating weekends for assignments and special eventsEssential Job Functions

- Acts as liaison between local agencies concerned with the functions and operations of the program.
- Interprets program guidelines, and other policies and procedures for operating agencies.
- May conduct periodic visits to outside agencies and department programs and prepares written reports of observations on the quality of services and program management.
- Receives, reviews, coordinates, and replies to correspondence submitted by operating agencies.
- Participates with agencies and department programs in recognizing operational problems; assists in making required adjustments; and promotes program innovation.
- May assign, evaluate, and monitor completion of tasks.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of experience in Social Services, Community Services, or professional-level administrative operations.
- Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.
- Experience supervising multiple recreational facilities.
- Knowledge of youth sports leagues and game rules.
- Experience with Summer Youth Programs and Day Camps.
- Experience in scheduling recreational programs in fitness, art, education, nature, science and/or teen programming.
- Experience developing promotional plans and recruiting participants for programs.
- Experience compiling reports with information from multiple sources.
- Experience motivating, disciplining and evaluating full-time staff.
- Experience with registration and reservation software applications.
- Experience with cash handling and conducting facility cash audits.
- Experience monitoring federal and state guidelines and regulations.
- Experience training staff on various topics.

- Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

- Skill in utilizing a personal computer and associated software programs.
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other basic office equipment.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with public agencies, City departments, and the general public.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to monitor program expenditures.
- Ability to supervise, evaluate and monitor performance in accordance with City policies and procedures.
- Ability to plan written strategies to be used in completing, monitoring, and evaluating reports.
- Ability to exercise considerable individual judgment and initiative in conducting the necessary operations within the program.
