Job Summary
Under immediate supervision, is responsible for performing several semi-skilled work assisting a Carpenter II with the more routine carpentry and building/facilities maintenance duties. Exercises no supervision

Work Hours
6:30a.m - 3:00p.m., Monday - Friday with occasional holidays and week-endsEssential Job Functions

- Installs and replaces gypsum board, ceiling tile, floor tile, etc.
- Assists in building, repairing, and installing counters, cabinets, shelves, tables, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework, and trims.
- Assists in building office furniture such as desks, bookcases, and computer stands.
- Installs and repairs glass in windows, doors, and partitions.
- Removes interior and exterior walls, doors, and windows, may require lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Measures and cuts material for carpentry projects and operates basic carpentry tools and equipment.
- Sands, cleans, glues, and fastens materials using nails, screws, and staples.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements

- Ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
- One (1) year of carpentry experience.
- Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Basic computer skills.
- Familiar with SAP/CRM computer systems.
- High School Diploma or GED.

- Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Knowledge of carpentry terminology and materials used in the trade.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Skill in using carpentry tools and equipment.
- Ability to learn to use the more complex tools of the trade.
- Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position, with or without accommodations.
- Working conditions are inside and outside with frequent exposure to temperature variations, dust, dirt, noise, and toxic fumes and vapors.
