Essential Job Functions

  • Oversees end user support with complex specialized equipment and software.
  • Coordinates the support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment, departmental databases, and technical programs.
  • Assists in designing, creating, and implementing departmental databases.
  • Identifies departmental technical needs and requirements.
  • Travels to different locations to inspect, evaluate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment and technical programs.
  • Works with stakeholders to understand requirements and objectives in building project objectives and program plans.
  • Assists in preparing written reports, summaries, and presentations on technical systems.
  • Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in database management, system support, or a relevant technical field; to include one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience.
  • Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.
  • Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A & B Misdemeanor
    Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and Family Violence Convictions.
  • Must successfully pass all background investigations.
  • Must maintain federally mandated security clearance required to work at an airport at all times.
  • Must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment and a Criminal History Records Check upon employment.
Preferred Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • GIS certifications (e.g., Esri Technical Certification, GISP).
  • Experience supporting or managing GIS-related projects, including data collection, spatial analysis, and development of maps, dashboards, or applications.
  • Experience integrating GIS with other systems such as CAD, BIM, asset management systems, or enterprise data platforms.
  • Proficiency with GIS software and tools (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Indoors, mobile data collection applications), including scripting or automation (e.g., Python, GeoPandas, SQL)
  • Familiarity with geospatial data management, including geodatabases, spatial datasets, data quality control, and governance practices.
Applicant Information
  • Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
