The Direct to Consumer (DTC) business within the Medicare Sales Center of Excellence is expanding its strategic footprint and requires a seasoned leader to drive cross functional alignment, orchestrate cross-channel problem solving, and ensure strategic initiatives advance with clarity and discipline.
The Lead Director, DTC Strategy & Business Performance Consulting operates as a senior advisor, execution leader, and integrator across Telesales, Field Sales, Hybrid Field Sales, and operations. This role analyzes business trends, shapes strategic recommendations, and builds the operating mechanisms required to ensure successful delivery of DTC priorities. Through data‑driven insights, structured communication, and disciplined coordination, this leader ensures that internal initiatives are effectively prioritized, staffed, communicated, and completed.
Success in this role requires exceptional collaboration, the ability to influence across organizational boundaries, and a strong strategic mindset grounded in operational execution. By the end of 2026, this role will have established the cross functional mechanisms required to ensure DTC initiatives are aligned, thoughtfully communicated, and completed with necessary support.
Primary Responsibilities”
Strategic Business Consultation & Advisory Support
- Lead the planning, development, and execution of cross-functional DTC projects by applying project and change management expertise to ensure organizational readiness.
- Advise DTC Sales leadership on business issues, emerging risks, operational trends, and opportunities for growth or efficiency.
- Translate business objectives into actionable recommendations, supported by data, analysis, and scenario planning.
- Partner with leaders across the enterprise to align on strategic priorities and ensure initiatives reflect both operational realities and long-term business goals.
Cross Functional Influence & Relationship Management‑Functional Influence & Relationship Management
- Build strong partnerships with Finance, Procurement, Analytics, Reporting, Legal, IT, and Market Performance Management to advance DTC priorities.
- Serve as the primary integrator across sales channels and shared services, creating seamless coordination and ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
- Provide decision support by synthesizing inputs from multiple stakeholders into clear options, implications, and recommendations.
Reporting, Business Intelligence, Analysis & Executive Communication
- Lead the development of dashboards, reports, performance summaries, and executive presentations that support strategic decision making.
- Establish mechanisms for data collection, analysis, and insight generation across DTC channels.
- Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with enterprise standards while enabling leadership to quickly understand performance drivers and risks.
Operational Readiness & New Initiative Coordination
- Drive operational alignment for new and existing initiatives, ensuring requirements are fully defined, documented, and communicated.
- Coordinate enterprise processes including contracting, procurement workflows, purchase orders, budgeting, and vendor documentation.
- Maintain oversight of initiative progress, identifying barriers and orchestrating resolution through influence and cross functional engagement.
Day-to-Day Problem Solving, Agility & Continuous Improvement
- Provide daily support and strategic consultation to the DTC leadership and project teams.
- Lead structured problem-solving efforts across DTC operations, applying rootcause analysis and designing pragmatic, scalable solutions.
- Identify gaps in processes, reporting, and communication; implement improvements to increase transparency, velocity, and operational discipline.
- Support change adoption by ensuring key partners are informed, aligned, and equipped to execute responsibilities.
- Be agile, demonstrate flexibility, and bias towards execution in an environment where priorities shift and urgent needs arise.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in strategic ideation and execution, consulting, operational support, or cross functional leadership roles in a matrixed corporate environment
- Strong capability in business intelligence, data analysis, and executive level communication
- Mastery of project management and change management with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and across a matrixed corporate environment
- Skilled in developing and maintaining project plans, status updates, and process documentation
- Demonstrated ability to drive alignment across functions and influence decision making without authority
- Proven experience interfacing with shared services (e.g., Finance, Procurement, Analytics, IT) to fulfill business and operational objectives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for drafting, editing, and disseminating internal communications and executive-level presentations
- Demonstrated project and work experience that required significant collaboration and teamwork
- Mastery of problem solving, decision support, and navigating ambiguous or rapidly evolving environments
- Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with analytical and reporting tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting sales channels, operational support teams, or business transformation initiatives.
- Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working within COE environments or large‑scale shared services organizations.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
