Position Summary

Caremark is the nation's leading pharmacy benefit manager (PBM). We work to ensure the path to better health is affordable, easy to access, and simple to follow, for our 103 million plan members. We provide personalized support to help people start and stay on their medications, because people who take their medications have better outcomes and lower health care costs.

Integrated with CVS Caremark, CVS Specialty helps bridge gaps in care and manage costs for payer clients - including health plans and employers - and the members they serve who rely on specialty medications. CVS Health is seeking an Executive Director of Specialty Trade to partner closely with the Vice President of Specialty Trade and lead a team of professionals in driving the growth initiatives of CVS Health’s Specialty business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team responsible for establishing and managing strategic relationships with specialty pharmaceutical manufacturers to reduce acquisition costs and secure access to limited‑distribution specialty products for CVS Specialty.

  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to build, maintain, and strengthen effective relationships with key internal stakeholders, ensuring enterprise‑wide alignment between Specialty Trade and the broader CVS Trade organization.

  • Serve as a senior leader within CVS Health, with a primary focus on providing strategic direction and leadership for Specialty Trade.

  • Partner with the Specialty leadership team to formulate and execute key strategies, including lowering acquisition costs, developing and implementing manufacturer service programs, and expanding access to limited‑distribution products across rare disease and oncology portfolios.

  • Represent the Specialty Trade organization in key internal leadership initiatives, acting as a liaison across Operations, Specialty Clinical, Account Management, Data Reporting, and other stakeholders to align strategies, priorities, and goals.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of Specialty Directors (negotiators), ensuring CVS Specialty Pharmacy remains an innovative, best‑in‑class leader in the specialty pharmacy marketplace.

  • Oversee collaboration with the RFP team in responding to manufacturer RFPs, ensuring high‑quality, competitive submissions that support acquisition cost reduction and broaden access to specialty products.
