The Senior Manager, Business Architect is responsible for translating PBM strategy and initiative intent into clear, executable business design and measurable outcomes. In this role you'll partner closely with business, technology, and delivery teams to ensure the Connected PBM Ecosystem (CPE) program is aligned to enterprise business capabilities, value streams, and outcomes not just point solutions.
You will operate as a strategic integrator, providing clarity on scope, dependencies, sequencing, and value realization. While primarily focused on supporting CPE delivery, you'll also contribute to the evolving Business Architecture discipline by applying standards, templates, and reusable assets.

This role ensures CPE is designed and executed with enterprise context, supporting both near‑term delivery and long‑term PBM transformation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Execution & Business Design
- Translate program objectives into business architecture views, including capability maps, value streams, and outcome models.
- Support program intake and planning by clarifying vision, scope, assumptions, and expected benefits.
- Evaluate solution options through a capability‑ and value‑driven lens, ensuring alignment to PBM strategy.
- Identify capability gaps, dependencies, and sequencing considerations that impact execution and outcomes.
- Support definition and tracking of program‑level outcomes and success measures aligned to enterprise goals/strategies.
2. Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Business, Solution Architecture, Process Engineering, UX, Data, and Change teams to align strategy, design, and execution.
- Serve as a connective role between business stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure shared understanding of intent and outcomes.
- Facilitate alignment discussions to resolve scope conflicts, overlaps, or dependency risks across programs.
- Provide architecture‑based insights to governance, planning, and decision forums as needed.
3. Architecture Standards & Reuse
- Define and apply established Business Architecture standards, methods, and templates.
- Contribute to the Business Architecture knowledge base by:
- Updating capability and value stream inventories.
- Documenting patterns, lessons learned, and reusable examples.
- Providing feedback to improve tools and templates.
- Ensure deliverables are clear, consistent, and aligned to business expectations.
- Support adoption of Business Architecture practices by modeling effective usage.
Success Measures
- Clear articulation of scope, intent, and outcomes.
- Improved alignment between business strategy and delivery execution.
- Reduced rework and duplication across major programs/initiatives.
- Consistent use of Business Architecture artifacts across the PBM.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Business Architecture, Strategy, Process Design, or Enterprise Transformation.
- Experience supporting large, cross‑functional initiatives in complex environments.
- Experience translating abstract strategy into practical, executable business design.
- Experience collaborating across business and technology teams.
- Experience presenting to all different levels of leadership.
Preferred Qualification
- 5 plus years of experience within the healthcare arena.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$75,400.00 - $182,549.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
