Position Summary
Would you like to be a part of our dynamic legal team for Fortune 6 CVS Health? As a Legal Counsel – Health Care Services you will provide timely, practical and actionable legal advice to internal business partners and leadership enabling the business to grow the organization and reach our long-term strategic goals. You will be responsible for drafting commercial prescription benefit management (PBM) contracts for CVS Health’s health plan and employer clients/payors. In this role you will actively advise internal partners on PBM program terms and an array of matters.
You will work in conjunction with other team members and business partners to interpret and administer PBM services agreements, provide legal and regulatory compliance interpretation, and general corporate legal advice. Additionally, you will identify business and legal risks and recommend solutions that balance those risks with business objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• You will develop a deep understanding of the business and operational goals of your assigned internal clients, and work diligently to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients at all levels of the organization.
• You will collaborate effectively and work as a member of the broader team, providing practical and sound advice to internal clients on legal issues related to business objectives, and take an active role in driving projects to successful conclusion.
• You will provide counsel directly to our PBM division leadership.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in transactional and/or complex contracting with a healthcare company or law firm.
• 2+ years of healthcare law experience with a basic knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, the False Claims Act, and the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute.
• Admitted to practice law in at least one state.
• Ability to travel up to 5%.

• You have expertise in negotiating and drafting a variety of complex contracts.
• You possess strong business insight.
• You have the ability to work collaboratively in a large, complex corporate structure.
• You possess excellent written and oral communication skills, initiative, drive and self-confidence.
• You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment and can successful manage many projects – whether large or small, complex or simple – simultaneously.
Education
Undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor required.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$144,200.00 - $288,400.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
