Position Summary
The Community Outreach Coordinator develops, facilitates, and implements outreach activities, special events, programs, and presentations that support member education and health plan awareness within the Medicaid or Medicare population and the community. This person develops and maintains relationships with community organizations, while also maintaining marketing guideline compliance with the appropriate state's laws and regulations.
What you will do:
- Ensures required documentation is in place for membership, leader-driven activities, and events.
- Manages on-site event staffing, and handles any problems or emergencies that may arise, serving as the primary contact for sponsors and event providers.
- Coordinates event logistics including reserving space, catering, communications, distributing materials, facilities support, and setup/breakdown for the event.
- Creates and maintains a calendar based around community events, in order to assist the department with community and member awareness.
- Seeks out and secures event sponsorship by building and maintaining relationships with community contacts.
- Prepares formal presentations for potential sponsors and members.
- Conducts new member orientations and leads engagement events and activities.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience with community outreach and/or event planning.
- 3-5 years of previous Medicaid experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Must reside in Louisiana.
- Ability to work from 8am-5pm Central Standard Time, as well as to be regularly flexible beyond core hours, specifically on evenings and weekends.
- Ability to travel 85-90% of the time within Louisiana, sometimes overnight.
Preferred Qualifications
- Resides within a commutable distance of New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and/or Lafayette.
- Previous experience utilizing social media in a community-based or marketing capacity.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Previous experience with developing, managing, and optimizing creative briefs and campaign workflows within Salesforce while supporting data-driven marketing and member outreach initiatives.
- Knowledge of claims, CPT Codes, and QNXT.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Highly skilled at relationship building and maintenance.
- Ability to work independently, including during travel.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (high school diploma or GED + 4 years of relevant experience).

The typical pay range for this role is:
$21.10 - $36.78This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
