Description

The Print Shop Operator is responsible for delivering printshop services at a customer location. This role supports daily operations across print production and printer fleet management.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong customer skills, clear communication, and a solid understanding of print shop workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Operate digital printing equipment to produce high-quality print materials according to job specifications.
  • Review work orders to confirm quantities, paper types, finishing requirements, and delivery deadlines.
  • Set up, calibrate, and monitor printers, cutters, and finishing equipment to ensure accurate color, alignment, and output quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting on print equipment.
  • Inspect printed materials for quality, consistency, and defects before releasing jobs.
  • Complete finishing tasks such as cutting, folding, binding, laminating, stapling, or packaging.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple print jobs to meet daily production schedules and deadlines.
  • Communicate with customers or internal departments to clarify job details and provide status updates.
  • Carry out additional duties assigned to support operational needs.

Experience & Required Skills

  • Experience operating digital production printers, copiers, and finishing equipment.
  • Familiarity with print job workflows, ticketing systems, or production scheduling.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with basic Fiery workstations is a plus.

Education & Certification

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and kneel, and move throughout the workday.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read printed and electronic documents.
  • Ability to speak clearly and understand verbal communication from others.
