Job Description Job Summary: As an Activity Based Driver, you'll drive, perform preventive maintenance, and be responsible for the content, condition, and security of cargo. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: • Records all hours of service performed, as required by DOT • Maintains mule / tractor / trailer equipment in accordance with prescribed preventive maintenance schedule • Completes all required documents for load transporting, including vendors, store deliveries, bills of lading, etc. • Monitors, documents, and controls refrigerated commodities requiring specific temperature settings / readings • Maintains responsibility for content and condition of cargo / commodity / product within trailer; ensures all cargo is secured • Unloads trailer at Store deliveries • Adheres to accountability methods of receiving all products as purchased / loaded onto the trailer at pick-up time from vendor • Maintains status as a qualified driver in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) • Performs Delivery Driver duties The responsibilities and essential functions outlined above describe the general nature and level of work assigned to this position. Qualifications & Key Requirements: Work Experience: Home daily Minimum age 21 (mandatory) 2 years and 100,000 miles of driving experience Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of the English language (mandatory, Regulation 398.3 (c)(4), "Every driver shall be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs and signals and directions given in English and to respond to officials - inquiries.") - Proficiency in DOT, local, state, and federal laws and regulations, and company safety policies - Ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug screen, and meet all DOT driver qualifications - Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks in a fast-paced, unsupervised environment; attention to detail - Ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays Education: a high school diploma Licenses/Certifications: Maintain status as an FMCSA-qualified driver Successful passing of Dept of Transportation DOT physical DOT drug screen background check and verification of work history Ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug screen and meet all DOT driver qualifications No DWI/DUI or felony convictions ever in lifetime * To get a copy of your Life History MVR from the Texas DPS, log on to: www.txdps.state.tx.us: - Select Driver License and Online Services / More online services - Click on Request a driver record - Enter requested information found on your driver's license - Click on Type AR (Abstract Driving Record) Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Work up to 70 hours per week in accordance with the DOT regulations Regularly lift, sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, and bend Occasionally lift 25 - 75 lbs Pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug screen, verification of work history, and meet all DOT driver qualifications The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Partner encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
