Job Description Job Summary: As a Dock Worker for H-E-B Transportation, you'll load and unload trailers, safely and thoroughly. You'll operate MHE and promote a safe, clean work environment. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: • Transportation Operations: Plans and facilitates daily loading and unloading of H-E-B trailers of specific reusables (e.g., pallets, plastic trays and crates, boxes, wrap, ties, assorted returns) Loads and unloads trailers in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with SOPs; unloads completely Maintains clean trailers; operates wash equipment; washes trailers as needed Operates material handling equipment Promotes a safe and clean work environment Maintains a sense of urgency; always prompt and punctual Escalates issues outside parameters to appropriate parties The responsibilities and essential functions outlined above describe the general nature and level of work assigned to this position. Qualifications & Key Requirements: Work Experience: of experience - Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of warehouse process for sanitation, including cleaning agents, supplies, and related tools - Working knowledge of related local, state, and federal regulations (preferred) - Math skills (+, -, *, /) - Reading and writing skills - Organization skills - Bi-lingual (English ¿ Spanish) skills a plus - Ability to communicate effectively - Ability to work in a team environment - Ability to operate machines and equipment in a safe, independent manner - Ability to operate H-E-B in-house systems (e.g., TINA) - Attention to detail - Education: or equivalent ( - Licenses/Certifications: Ability to obtain and maintain certification in pallet jack and forklift operation - Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Constantly stand, walk, and squat Frequently lift and carry 7 lbs for duration of a 10 to 12-hour shift Occasionally lift up to 57 lbs Occasionally reach overhead, at shoulder, knee, and floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, and pivot Work in multi-temperature zones While there may be exceptions, the measurements noted are generally defined as--Constantly: 5.5+ hours per 8-hour day; Frequently: 2.5 - 5.5 hours per 8-hour day; Occasionally: 0 - 2.5 hours per 8-hour day The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Partner encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
