Responsibilities Job Summary: Oversees and leads audit projects within an organization, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Manages audit team members, develops audit plans, conducts risk assessments, performs audit testing, and prepares audit reports. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Provides guidance and support to junior auditors and contributes to the overall effectiveness of the audit function. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: • Business Operations - Auditing: Performs inquiry, observation, inspection, or re-performance testing procedures at manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and support services / administrative departments with the primary purpose of testing financial controls, financial transactions, financial statement balances, and regulatory compliance Assists with the identification of key financial controls Assists in facilitating risk and control assessments Assists in determining testing approaches and audit samples Performs planning, testing, and reporting tasks as defined by more senior audit personnel Prepares clear, concise work-papers that comply with the audit guidelines Works on special projects Monitors open management action plans and verifies resolutions Continually seeks out opportunities to learn more about H-E-B's accounting and business practices • IT Auditing: Performs inquiry, observation, inspection, or re-performance testing procedures for IT processes with the primary purpose of testing applications supporting financial controls, financial transactions, financial statement balances, and regulatory compliance • Project Management: Meets or exceeds performance goals for productivity, audit budgets, audit cycle times, and continuing professional education Reports time spent on projects, admin, training, etc. • Analytics: Assess internal controls related to brand protection, financial/operational activity, regulatory compliance, and information systems Gather, analyze, evaluate facts and information to form recommendations • Communications: Assist in drafting audit reports and presenting recommendations to management Present audit results to management The responsibilities and essential functions outlined above describe the general nature and level of work assigned to this position. Qualifications & Key Requirements: Work Experience: 2+ years Relevant experience - Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to manage multiple tasks, change focus quickly, and work in a fast-paced environment - Required Proficiency in MS Office (especially PowerPoint) - Required Effective verbal and written communication skills - Required A high level of integrity and work ethic - Required Understanding of and adherence to the Auditor's Code of Ethics and IIA Professional Standards - Required Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive or restricted information - Required Ability to self-schedule and maintain productivity - Required Capability to perform and verify complex mathematical computations - Required Proficiency in developing analytical testing plans - Required Effective coaching skills (to coach Associate Auditors - Required Strong investigative skills - Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree or additional role-relevant experience - Required Licenses/Certifications: CIA or CFE certification - Preferred Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Function in a fast-paced, office environment Travel by car or plane with overnight stays Work extended hours; sit/stand for extended periods.
