Responsibilities Job Summary: As an H-E-B Pharmacist in Training, you'll perform duties related to supervision and operation of a retail Pharmacy, providing superior customer service, and supporting a caring, team environment. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: • Pharmacy Operations / Customer Service / Compliance: Performs functions related to supervising and operating a retail pharmacy Provides superior customer service; builds / maintains positive customer relations Performs prescription accuracy checks; ensures correct medication is given to correct patient, with correct directions, in correct dosage and package for each prescription under supervision of a licensed Pharmacy preceptor Assists Technicians and Pharmacy Care Representatives in answering questions on prescriptions, products, and services Maintains consistent quality assurance measures with each task while performing at peak efficiency Contacts physicians on questions or concerns with prescriptions; verifies / documents accurate information under supervision of a licensed Pharmacy preceptor Role models a service mentality through personal actions and interpersonal and communication skills Exemplifies professionalism by following high ethical practices and standards of behavior Manages inventory in compliance with policies related to ordering, processing, and returning of product received by or sent from the Pharmacy Verifies all return to stock tasks are performed daily Assists with checking in Central Fill orders Assists with filing invoices Provides patient counseling on all new prescriptions under supervision of a licensed Pharmacy preceptor Promotes a caring environment for patients, building on an established shared trust between Partners and patients Responds to situations in a manner that maintains respect for customers and Partners; maintains positive relationships amidst confrontation and escalated situations; reconciles them in a way that does not create resentment or continued discontent Ensures privacy and confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI), as required by HIPAA Ensures department complies with Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) and other state (DPS) and federal agency (DEA) rules and regulations Ensures environment is safe and clean for Partners and patients Serves as an advocate for new initiatives; supports change; leads others through a changing environment in a positive manner Adheres to / supports all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Cultivates positive working relationships with Partners in other roles and departments within H-E-B Performs other assigned duties The responsibilities and essential functions outlined above describe the general nature and level of work assigned to this position. Qualifications & Key Requirements: Work Experience: Actively pursuing licensure with Texas State Board of Pharmacy - Successful completion of all company- and Pharmacy-required training within established timeframe - Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Working knowledge of / familiarity with computer software / hardware related to the job - Proficiency in MS Office applications - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills - Communication skills - Organization skills; precision-oriented - Leadership and team-building skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks in stressful situations; detail-oriented - Ability to work independently while concurrently receiving direction from preceptor - Ability to work with all levels of management - Education: of Science Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree - Licenses/Certifications: Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment that is demanding and requires continual attention to detail and precision under stress Work rotating shifts, including on weekends; remain flexible to scheduling as business needs dictate Stand / sit for extended periods (up to 12 hours) Regularly lift up to 20 lbs The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Partner encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
