Responsibilities Job Summary: As a Business Development Assistant II, you'll review, prioritize, track actions, and resolve complex issues in support of H-E-B Business Development Managers (BDMs) and assigned categories. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Administration: Supports / partially represents BDM Ensures products are competitively priced, meeting price image and financial objectives as directed by BDM Executes consistent pricing strategy for BDM in communication materials / branding throughout pricing programs, processes, policies, and other H-E-B initiatives Manages data entry of cost and retail relationships to support marketing and merchandising strategies Develops templates and processes to track category performance and run category reports Identifies / researches / resolves issues with no BDM involvement Manages implementation of mid- to-large pricing projects and initiatives Represents BDM in meetings (e.g., note taking, presenting updates, clarifying, notifying BDM of priority action steps) Creates promotional product surveys in tool for promotional events (e.g., forecasting, store allocation) Executes promotional event tasks, including coupons, PI tracking, and OMS offers Executes broker functions when no broker exists (e.g., securing product samples) Coordinates test sets Drafts communications / presentations Recommends solutions to process problems Manages new item submission and set up process after items are selected by BDM, including eCommerce Assists in assortment decisions and new item placements Provides input / makes recommendations on new events, promotions, and ad language Analytics: Performs in-depth analysis for supplier negotiation; makes recommendations based on analysis Analyzes / generates / compiles support documentation for meetings and budgeting, and for category-level financial analysis and post-event analysis Conducts post-event analysis Prepares budgets and forecasting purchasing trends Compiles reports on product performance and statistics The responsibilities and essential functions outlined above describe the general nature and level of work assigned to this position. Qualifications & Key Requirements: Work Experience: 3+ years Experience in business, merchandising / procurement, or store operations - Required Experience in systems, processes, and analysis - Required Experience in product information data flow - Required Experience in merchandising software systems (a plus) - Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Working knowledge of systems, processes, and analysis - Required Working knowledge of product information data flow - Required Advanced interpersonal skills - Required Strong verbal / written communication skills - Required Strong analytical skills - Required Strong organization and time management skills - Required Strong PC skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and software / systems required by the job (e.g., eComm, BI) - Required Ability to work cohesively on internal / external contacts - Required Ability to work on cross-functional teams - Required Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between projects / tasks under pressure - Required Ability to work as a strong team player - Required Ability to problem solve and bring forth issues and recommendations - Required Customer service-oriented - Required Education: A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience - Required Licenses/Certifications: Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment Travel by car or plane with overnight stays Work extended hours; sit for extended periods Regularly lift 20 lbs or more The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Partner encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
