Working for Building Engineering Services (BES) Digital Program within HDR to advance the Digital Delivery (DD) initiatives and contribute to the development, adoption, and implementation of production BIM content, in support of HDR Engineering design groups. The position requires coordination with HDR’s business groups, design services groups and production centers. Primary duties will include creating, maintaining, and coordinating the creation of digital content used in A/E/C design, in support of our business group and associated market sectors. Content management activities will include the development of content standards, improving quality control and associated BES Digital initiatives as programmed by the Professional Services Director and Digital Delivery Technical Director.

This position will develop and lead selected integration efforts relating to BIM content and support the overall vision and initiatives of the BES Digital Delivery core team concepts. Additional job responsibilities include helping to plan, develop, and maintain BIM content; deployment of design information management applications and other design assistance tools; and technology/workflow awareness outreach activities. The BES Digital Delivery Content Lead (DDCL) will work directly with the BES Digital core team to maintain content libraries inclusive of all disciplines and business groups with assistance from internal expertise as a primary responsibility. The BES DDCL is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with local and regional office production leaders, project teams and key consultants to strengthen the digital practice culture at HDR.

Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain HDR production standards, supporting resources, and documentation related to our digital production content.
  • Maintain BES engineering Revit & Civil 3D templates and container files.
  • Assess current and future content-related needs for primary production software packages.
  • Create, develop, and maintain parametric content and libraires.
  • Work with the Engineering business classes to update and maintain standard details libraries.
  • Consult with HDR business group Digital Delivery Content Leads to maintain alignment with the development of content strategies, library management, and implementation of production content.
  • Facilitate pilot groups and advisory committees related to tool application and production content.
  • Assist teams in applying content management strategies both virtually and in person.
  • Capture and review project-developed content for adaptation to HDR standard libraries.
  • Stay informed of the latest industry trends regarding content creation and management.
  • Improve consistency and quality of both existing and new production content.
  • Develop and administer content approval processes while maintaining content libraries.
  • Consult with HDR project teams to collect content that has proven effective in a project environment, which can be vetted and redistributed to all offices.
  • Work collaboratively with the Digital Deliver teams in all HDR Business Groups.

Communication

  • Author and conduct workshops on content creation and content management.
  • Develop training modules for the content creation process.
  • Present to BES leadership & staff about initiatives and implementation strategies.
  • Represent HDR at industry events.
  • Participation in industry user groups/organizations is encouraged.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aptitude toward technology and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and related Revit Add-Ins, workflows, and associated software.
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk products BIM 360/ACC, Civil 3D, & Navisworks.
  • Experience with industry content management solutions and strategies is a plus.
  • Experience with Autodesk Platform Services and Dynamo is a plus.
  • Experience with MS Power Platforms, Teams, & SharePoint, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with industry specifications MasterFormat & UniFormat.
  • Familiarity with coding or scripting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with industry standards for BIM content, data management and information exchange.
  • Experience in consulting with internal and external clients to develop content strategies is a plus.
  • Interest and familiarity with international practice is a plus.
  • Strong oral and written interpersonal communication skills.

Required Qualifications
  • Technical degree or a combination of education and relevant experience
  • A minimum of 5 years digital design (BIM element authoring) and 5 years digital delivery (model management) experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of all discipline relations and operations of building systems
  • Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure
  • Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tools
  • Advanced skillset of Microsoft Office products and communication tools
  • Familiar with industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications
  • Familiar with basic automation and programming applications for efficiencies
  • Familiar with 3D design software add-ins and supporting applications
  • Familiar with content creation and management concepts
  • Superior client service, communication, and presentation skills are essential
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively serve as a first line of technical support
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and leadership traits are essential
  • Must have strong organizational skills to establish priorities between technical support requests and project work
  • Must be enthusiastic, energetic, and an excellent work ethic

Typical starting pay range for this position is $95,000 - $115,000 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
