In the role of Senior Scheduler, we'll count on you to:
  • Develop and manage project schedules and narratives based on production and estimate information from project personnel including engineers and project managers.
  • Develop and maintain project cost information, including budgets, commitments, expenditures, forecast and explanation of variances
  • Utilize Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other scheduling software to perform in-depth analysis of project schedules (to include cost / resource loaded schedules), review delay claims for time entitlement and assist in resolution of project disputes
  • Independently review, analyze, and report on baseline schedules, monthly schedule updates, and time impact (entitlement) analyses submitted by contractors
  • Report on findings and assist client with negotiation of time extensions
  • Ensure project planning and schedule standards are implemented and that all project related activities comply
  • Identify and report the impact of performed and delayed work by updating the project approved schedule and financial reporting programs.
  • Assist in the preparation and negotiation of Change Orders and additional work
  • Develop Time Impact Analyses in the support of Change Order requests / reviews
  • Develop / implement project dashboards and collaboration sites to support monitoring and status communication to the project/program management team
  • Collaboratively resolve review comments with other scheduling staff, contractors, and client
  • Perform quality control review of project controls reports and verify timely execution
  • Review accuracy of progress measurement and earned value reporting
  • Utilize a procedural framework and tools for preparing, reporting, and recording variances
  • Work under a Principal Scheduler or Project Controls Manager, and with other Schedulers, to meet objectives in a timely manner
  • Ability to guide / train Project Schedulers
  • Follow appropriate internal control safeguards to ensure consistent reporting of accurate information
  • Take part in meetings with the project team
  • Assist in maintaining effective relationships with internal and external clients
  • Proactively seek collaboration and cooperation
  • Satisfactorily respond to client needs and priorities
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Construction Management
  • A minimum of 10 years scheduling experience on engineering and construction projects, including planning, estimating, forecasting, scheduling, cost control, schedule control, and project reports
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules
  • Cost control background
  • Certifications (one or more): CST, CCT, CMIT, CDT, PSP, EVP, PMI-SP, PMP, CCM, EIT, PE
  • Bridge, highway, and roadway construction scheduling experience
  • Alternative Delivery Scheduling experience
  • Texas Alternative Delivery Scheduling experience
  • Minimum of 5 years related to Alternative Delivery transportation scheduling using P6
  • Experience with cost management systems, cost analysis, forecasting, and change management on alternative delivery projects
  • Experience in document control, Federal reporting requirements, on-the-job training tracking, change order, and claim analysis on alternative delivery projects
  • Experience with risk logs
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple long- and short-term tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to generate a high-quality work product within tight timeframes
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 10 years Construction Scheduling
  • Proficiency in using Primavera, SureTrak, and/or other scheduling software
  • Experience with cost and resource loaded schedules required
