We have a great opportunity for a Senior Manager, Construction Management.
The position will be based in our Lisle, Illinois headquarters and report into our Director, Global Facilities.
Responsibilities
- Leads the design, planning and construction of buildings and other facilities
- Allocates internal resources to work with business partners by developing timelines for construction projects
- Reviews scopes of work (SOW) for all projects in North America; these scopes of work shall ensure that all Navistar standards, construction safety requirements & insurer requirements are documented and followed throughout each project
- Negotiates terms of agreements and draft contracts
- Monitors plans, budgets, and schedules for facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs
- Audits project schedule deliverables and cost estimates
- Reviews work progress with team on a weekly basis
- Oversees preparation of internal and external reports pertaining to job status
- Communicates with business partners regarding project delays, cost overruns and supplier issues that affect bringing the project in on time and on budget
- Surveys projects to ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques, and that contractors are meeting contractual conditions of performance
- Supports business partners in developing annual capital budget for all construction projects
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 10 years of industrial construction or project management experience
- At least 4 years of management experience

- Master's degree
- At least 8 years of industrial construction or project management experience
- At least 4 years of management experience
OR
- At least 12 years of industrial construction or project management experience
- At least 4 years of management experience

- Experience in civil design (greenfield & brownfield sites)
- Experience in underground & above ground utilities:
- Electrical (high voltage and low voltage)
- Water (potable, sanitary & grey water systems)
- Natural Gas
- Experience in steel erection, siding & roofing
- Extensive CADD experience
- Ability to analyze A/E drawings for content, correctness, code compliance, constructability and costs
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Superior knowledge of facilities and maintenance issues in the manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage trades
- A thorough understanding of building codes including but not limited to:
- Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA)
- American National Standards Institute (ANSI) B93.114M-1987
- SAE Standards
- National Electrical Code
- NFPA
- NEMA
- ANSI C84.1
- Factory Mutual Insurance Standards
- Exceptional interpersonal and analytical abilities including fully developed written and verbal communication skills
- Extensive project management experience
- Experience in writing statements of work
- Superior knowledge of facilities and maintenance issues in the manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage trades
- Travel required
