Credit Analyst I

JOB FUNCTION:
Analyze, format, and communicate information on new and existing loans to identify credit risks. Provide underwriting support to the commercial lending function.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze personal and business financial information as well as entity ownership structures to understand creditworthiness of proposed loan
- Prepare credit approval requests, debt and deposit recaps, financial spreadsheets, cash flow analysis, written memorandums, and other necessary analysis in to relay information to senior management in a timely manner
- Assist loan officers in gathering and relaying information between the Bank and its customers
- Attend meetings with customers, loan officers and senior management regularly.
- Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Work Experience
- Must be familiar with practices common in field to include spreading of various types of financial statements and an understanding of cash flows analysis
- Must be innovative and able to work independently
- Must have excellent organization skills, attention to detail, ability to work under time constraints and good interpersonal skills
- Must have working knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Preferred Experience (Optional)
- One to two years experience in credit department of a bank
Supervisory Experience
- None required
Education/Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, preferably with a Finance or Accounting major w/at least 4 semesters of accounting coursework
- Strong writing, communication and analytical skills are required
Equipment/Machines/Software
- Strong knowledge and experience using Microsoft Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel,PowerPoint), and Internet Explorer
- Personal computer
- Ability to work with office equipment such as phone system, 10- key calculator, telephone, copiers, scanners, shredders, fax
- Preferred experience with; Moody’s Financial Analyst, Jack Henry Silverlake, Pricing Software, BUI
Competency Requirements
- Must be able to hear and speak to communicate with customers
- Proven organizational skills with ability to shift priorities and follow assigned tasks through completion
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must have high attention to detail with ability to focus on assigned tasks
- Must be accustomed to a fast-paced office environment
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift, push and pull files up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and be mobile within office environment
- Must be able to sit for most of the day in front of a computer
- Must be able to speak and hear customers
- Must be able to see computer screen to read and type on the keyboard
