Investment Advisor

JOB FUNCTION:
The Investment Advisor is primarily responsible for developing new business client relationships, independently providing advice and servicing a broad range of clients. The position will primarily work in their assigned geography and will support other geographies as needed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently sell, market and develop new relationships in accordance with the investment management philosophy and methodology of 1900 Wealth Management (highly diversified, passive investment strategies through institutional mutual funds and disciplined rebalancing)
- Identify, cultivate and track new opportunities
- Maintain existing client relationships through ongoing investment advice and comprehensive financial planning, based on the unique and evolving circumstances related to each client
- Perform lead/primary advisory role for large clients, including foundations
- Effectively collaborate across the 1900 team to achieve firm objectives
- Support alternative investment initiatives
- Support the career development of Junior Advisors
- Coordinate client relationships related to non-financial assets through Jefferson Bank’s Trust Department (e.g., Trusts, Family Office Management Services, and Mineral Management)
- Coordinate banking services and products through Jefferson Bank
- Participate in marketing outreach, including public relations, communications and events
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Operate under the provisions of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Work Experience
- Minimum of 36 months’ experience as an Investment Advisor, with demonstrated results in business development and investment management specifically private equity and alternative investments
- Demonstrated sophisticated and in-depth knowledge of wealth management and financial planning working with high-net-worth individuals and families
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Supervisory Experience
- Experience working in a team environment with management responsibilities
Education/Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Prefer Accounting, Finance or Economics
- CFA or CFP, preferred
- Series 65 license or obtain within 90 days of employment
Equipment/Machines/Software
- Excellent computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of a performance reporting system is a plus, i.e., Tamarac, Black Diamond, Advent, YCharts, MoneyGuidePro, etc.
- Ability to work with office equipment including telephones, computers, digital devices, copy machines, scanners and fax machines

- Desire/ability to work successfully in a small company environment

- Must be able to drive to meet with clients
- Must be able speak, see, hear, and read information on computer screens or digital devices and on paper to communicate with clients
- Must be mobile in an office environment
- Must be able to reach, bend and lift files up to 20 pounds
- Must be able to type on a keyboard
- Must be able to be mobile in an office environment
- Must have dependable transportation
