JOB FUNCTION:
The Senior Investment Advisor is responsible for developing new client relationships, independently providing investment advice and servicing a broad range of clients. This position collaborates with other advisors and other functional areas within 1900 Wealth and Jefferson Bank including Portfolio Management, Operations, Alternative Investments, Trust, and Private Bank to deliver excellent service and value to the client and support the objectives of 1900 Wealth and Jefferson Bank. This position will involve supervisory and / or career development responsibilities for junior advisors. The position will primarily work in their assigned geography and will support other geographies as needed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently sell, market and develop new relationships in accordance with the investment management philosophy and methodology of 1900 Wealth Management.
- Identify, cultivate and track new opportunities.
- Maintain existing client relationships through ongoing investment advice and comprehensive financial planning, based on the unique and evolving circumstances related to each client.
- Perform lead/primary advisory role for large clients, including foundations.
- Perform secondary advisory role in support of other advisors, as needed.
- Effectively collaborate across the 1900 team and Jefferson Bank to support client relationships and opportunities.
- Support alternative investment initiatives.
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of operations including performance reporting, custodial relationships, trading and any function related to managing and reporting on accounts.
- Function as a leader within 1900 and Jefferson bank.
- Perform supervisory work, including the management / leadership of direct reports.
- Support the career development of Junior Advisors.
- Participate in marketing outreach, including public relations, communications and events.
- Operate under the provisions of the Investment Advisors Act of 1940.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Work Experience
- 15 years experience as an Investment Advisor, with demonstrated results in business development and investment management specifically private equity and alternative investments preferred.
- Demonstrated sophisticated and in-depth knowledge of wealth management and financial planning working with high-net-worth individuals and families.
Supervisory Experience
- Prior supervisory experience, preferred.
Education/Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred.
- CFA or CFP preferred.
- Series 65 license or obtain within 90-days of employment.
Equipment/Machines/Software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); Adobe experience preferred.
- Experience with various portfolio accounting and reporting, and CRM systems.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to hear and speak to communicate with employees and vendors.
- Must be able to lift, push and pull files up to 15 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and be mobile within office environment.
- Must be able to sit for most of the day in front of a computer.
- Must be able to see computer screen to read and type on the keyboard.
Position Includes Driving
- Driving is an essential function of the position. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
