POSITION DETAILS:

Reports to: Chief Estimator or Director of Preconstruction

FLSA Status: Full-Time, Salaried Exempt

Normal Working Hours –Office Hours: 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday

Position Objective:

Responsible for supporting estimators during all budgeting, estimating, and bidding.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and execute successful projects through the bid process
  • Support communication with subcontractors and suppliers through the complete bid process
  • Effectively collaborate and coordinate with Architects, Owners, Estimators, Project Managers, and administrative support
  • Attend pre-bid conferences
  • Perform accurate quantity surveys and costs for estimates
  • Distribute necessary estimates, subcontractor and vendor lists, and other data to Project Manager
  • Provide value engineering information for effective project management and budget decisions
  • Manage and develop all cost reporting
  • Call subcontractors to effectively solicit bids
  • Manage, develop, assist, and present to department on training initiatives
  • Additional duties as required

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science, Architecture, Engineering, Economics, or related field
  • At least 1 year of industry experience
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be capable of remaining in a stationary sitting position, occasionally moving about the office; prolonged standing; occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor; bending/reaching; climbing; balancing; bending; stooping; kneeling; crouching; crawling;

handling; feeling; talking; hearing; depth perception; visual accommodation; color vision; field of vision; near acuity; far acuity; and strength. Frequent near vision use for reading and computer use. Ability to lift, move and transport items weighing 40lbs. During workweek, or as needed, regular drives between job sites and for meetings with owners, architects, etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction jobsites: heat; cold; wet and/or humid; proximity to moving mechanical parts; exposure to electric shock; working in high, exposed places; exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals, noise, dust, dirt, mud, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, etc.
