Kahlig Auto Group is currently seeking a Staff Accountant or Accounting Clerk to add to the team in the San Antonio market. The ideal candidate will have high character and a strong work ethic. As a staff accounting or accounting clerk, you will support our North Park Lexus dealerships by assisting the team in the daily operations of the accounting department.

COMMON DUTIES OF A STAFF ACCOUNTANT/ACCOUNTING CLERK:

  • Record vehicle sales and sales of other products and services on the general ledger
  • Review paperwork from various sales departments to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance
  • Process necessary payments to customer, lienholders, and other applicable parties
  • Ensure office and daily work is kept neat and organized
  • Assist in research regarding customer inquiries, sales inquiries, and additional opportunities as they arise
  • Reconcile schedules to include, but not limited to: contracts in transit, inventory, vehicle payable schedules, etc.
  • Enter and maintain vendors and invoices for multiple dealership purchases
  • Remit payments via check, credit card, or other applicable methods of payment for dealership purchases
  • Reconcile various dealership statements, including but not limited to: credit card statements, bank account statements, and other dealership statements
  • Reconcile service and parts receipts, including charge cards, on a daily basis
  • Cross train and assist other desks and personnel in office

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; College degree preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting fundamentals required
  • Automotive experience preferred
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours when necessary
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Strong emphasis on Excel skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of mathematical principles and application (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, and percentage calculations); word processing, intermediate spreadsheet and database maintenance
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner on the phone, internet and in person
  • Use of standard office equipment, including 10-key adding machine
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and support change when necessary
