This position is responsible for providing technical support for utility coordination to engineers working on water, wastewater, stormwater, floodplain drainage, transportation, and facility projects.

Utility Coordination Support:

• Assist in the coordination and communication with utility companies, public agencies, and project stakeholders.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of utility-related project documentation and schedules.

Technical Design Support:

• Work from detailed sketches or redlines to prepare utility plans, profiles, and detail drawings using Microstation.
• Develop construction documents showing topographical contours, elevations, profiles, and cross-sections, as well as draft design engineering drawings.
• Understand and adhere to established company standards for drafting, including layer names, line and character styles, and drawing and file naming conventions.
• Analyze sketches, notes, and other input materials to determine the best approach for developing and completing utility drawings with minimal supervision.

Project Management Assistance:

• Inform Project Manager(s) of progress on assigned utility projects and request additional work when needed.
• Maintain an organized work area to allow easy access to project information by other team members.
• Be flexible in work assignments and team assignments, accommodating changes in project needs.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Assist in developing and implementing project controls, including dynamic dashboards, client-side reporting modules, and real-time status metrics.
• Process and distribute confidential and sensitive information/documents.

• Associate’s Degree in Computer-Aided Design or a related field. A degree with a civil specialization is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation, ProjectWise, GeoPak, and/or GIS.
• Proficient in drafting and design software.
• Familiarity with utility coordination processes and standards.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with colleagues, clients, and public agency officials.
• Self-starter and highly motivated.
• Ability to work interdependently within a team environment.
• Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and able to accommodate project needs.
• Ability to work 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.

• Experience in utility coordination and management.
