Overview
The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation of Water/Wastewater infrastructure projects for public, private, and municipal utility district clients. In addition to leading a team of inspectors and technical professionals, this position will be actively involved in partnerships within the communities we serve.
Responsibilities
Provide project management oversight throughout all phases of a construction project/projects including budget, schedule, risk, and stakeholder management to execute the client’s project goals and objectives
Confirm the project meets the client’s requirements, budget, schedule, and regulatory agencies guidelines
Direct and supervise construction inspection staff
Serve as the liaison between engineers, contractors, testing agencies, and the client
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering or construction management from an ABET-accredited college or university
Minimum of 6 years of progressive construction project management experience with demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Proven ability to manage personnel as well as coordinate, and schedule work of project team in construction management and inspection activities
Must be able to work from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, to be available to serve each other and our clients. When it is important to meet a crucial deadline, overtime may become necessary
Travel may be required, including working in remote locations for extended periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation in the State of Texas or successfully obtain within 12 months
Certified Construction Manager Certificate (CCM) through CMAA
Other certifications related to Construction and Engineering are a plus.
Demonstrated experience in constructability, Risk Management, Value Engineering, estimating, and schedule management
Experience as an owner’s representative
Experience as a responsible project manager developing budgets and invoicing
Previous experience executing public works programs or projects
Experience with large capital projects with particular emphasis on water and wastewater treatment plants and large diameter collection and distribution pipelines
Experience leading, coaching, and mentoring project team members
Experience with business development and proposal support
