Job Description:
Overview
This position is responsible for providing design support to engineers for site/commercial and residential land development projects.
Responsibilities
- Utilize basic ArcGIS functions in daily work
- Coordinate and communicate with project team in creating Electrical and Gas Subdivision Designs to meet overall project objectives and deadlines (for CPS Energy)
- Prepare and/or revise construction and planning documents as well as exhibits within company standards from redlines for a variety of projects
- Ability to follow and implement Pape-Dawson QA/QC and agency checklists into construction documents
- Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings
- Inform Project Manager(s) of progress on assigned projects and request work when needed
- Maintain organized work area to allow access of project information by other team members
- Flexible in work assignments and team assignments
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling
- Apply for utility permits, as needed
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Computer-Aided Design, Geographic Information Systems, or other Associates Degree in Civil Engineering emphasis
- Detail oriented with high level of accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
- Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional overtime as needed
