Raba Kistner is seeking an energetic Payroll and Benefits Coordinator to join our Payroll & Benefit’s team in the greater San Antonio, TX area. The Benefits/Payroll Coordinator is primarily responsible for administering activities relating to the company benefits and payroll, processing including implementing and monitoring data controls. Other responsibilities include:
- Provide administrative and data-entry support for payroll, employee benefits, and related HRIS activities under the direction of the Payroll and Benefits Manager.
- Enter and maintain payroll and benefits data, including employee deductions, benefit elections, deduction changes, direct-deposit information, tax forms, garnishments, levies, support orders, and other approved payroll adjustments.
- Review submitted forms and supporting documentation for completeness; follow up on missing information and route exceptions for review and approval.
- Assist with payroll preparation by collecting time and attendance data, reviewing routine exception reports, entering approved changes, organizing payroll documentation, and completing payroll checklists and reconciliations.
- Support new-hire, employee-change, leave, and termination processing in the payroll, benefits, and HRIS systems.
- Coordinate routine benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations and send employee correspondence and materials, including summary plan descriptions, identification cards, notices, and enrollment information.
- Serve as an initial point of contact for routine payroll and benefits questions; provide standard information and refer complex plan, compliance, or payroll matters to the appropriate team member.
- Enter, review, and reconcile monthly benefit invoices and payroll deductions; identify discrepancies and prepare documentation for review and payment approval.
- Maintain benefit invoice logs, claims-related data, payment records, employee files, and other payroll and benefits documentation.
- Support the annual open enrollment process, employee benefit meetings, new employee orientation, benefit events, and related communications.
- Assist with COBRA administration in the payroll or benefits system, including qualifying-event data entry, documentation, and payment monitoring.
- Prepare routine ACA, payroll, benefits, audit, census, and compliance reports and assist with data validation.
- Process written employment verifications and assist with wage verifications for workers compensation and unemployment claims using approved procedures.
- Provide administrative support for certified payroll by collecting project and employee data, organizing supporting records, and entering information as directed.
- Maintain electronic and paper payroll and benefits files in accordance with record-retention and confidentiality requirements.
- Retrieve, process, and distribute departmental mail and assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field from an accredited four year university or college
- One (1) to two (2) years of administrative, payroll, benefits, accounting, human resources, or related experience preferred.
- CEBS, CPP and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
Excellent oral and written communications, presentation and interpersonal skills are essential. Intermediate to advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills is required. Experience using Payroll and/or HRIS software or CEBS, CPP is preferred.

This position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs. Work responsibilities may require out of town travel to Raba Kistner offices, client offices and project locations.
