Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources Project Manager is responsible for managing assigned Projects for Human Resources. These projects may range from small to large and complex projects with SAWS-wide implications. This position will track projects with regular reporting to management and will provide direction and guidance to assigned team to include allocating resources and assigning tasks to achieve optimal results.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of assigned special projects.
•Coordinates with other departments or divisions to help identify problems and resolve issues.
•Tracks and monitors project progress and associated budgets, and reports to SAWS management.
•Conducts research, interprets results and coordinates implementation of various new programs, tools or laws.
•Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends relating to the HR needs for the business segment; examines existing processes and suggests improvements.
•Researches HR technological advances, studies best practices, and industry standards to provide guidance to management.
•Assists with development of and monitoring of the annual Human Resources’ budget.
•Provides overall direction for team activities to support project execution.
•Provides all pertinent training and education needs to ensure team member development and availability of skills for project execution.
•Prepares request for proposals; evaluates interest statement submittals; and manages professional service contracts.
•Collaborates with all stakeholder groups and designs, writes, and delivers reports and presentations as needed.
•Assists with testing of new solutions and automation of current manual processes.
•May supervise, recommend selection, develop, train, and evaluate performance of team members.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
DECISION MAKING
•This position works under limited supervision.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
•Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development and Training, or related field from an institution accredited by a recognized accrediting agency.
•Five years’ experience in developing, analyzing, and/or administering human resources programs or related experience including two years of lead experience.
•Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Master's Degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration from an institution accredited by a recognized accredited agency.
•Professional Human Resources Certification or Senior Professional Human Resources Certification.
•Proficiency and/or formal certification in Six Sigma/Lean philosophies and principles.

•Ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
•Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical requirements include lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally. Subject to sitting and/or standing for long periods of time. Requires visual acuity, speech and hearing. May operate a company or personal vehicle to conduct field visits. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment with occasional field visits.
May be required to work hours other than regular schedule such as nights and weekends.
