SWBC is seeking a talented individual to monitor, troubleshoot and provide incident situation management for all systems and file transfers to include administering and coordinating all production activities concerning the electronic file transfers, backup operations, and daily operations across multiple platforms. This role resolves and logs any customer support center problems and communicates and/or escalates appropriate problems to the appropriate teams.

The Data Center Operators Role Offers IT enterprise-level environment exposure to the IBM iSeries. This position is an entry-level IT AS400 IBM Series and incident monitoring hourly shift role will allow you to continue your education and/or grow your IT skills. You will gain knowledge on SWBC’s IT Ticketing System called ServiceNow and will document technical insight information and assist the Service Desk with their IBM iSeries operation questions.
Essential duties include the following:
Monitors system resources, system capabilities, Alarm notifications and scheduled processes to ensure adequate performance and maximum systems availability in the Data Center as team member of the Operations Group to include processing on request and scheduled events on both AS400 and Windows systems.
Administers, plans, and maintains the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) applications and the electronic file transfer process which includes working with internal and external customers to ensure timely transfer of data.
Performs daily operational tasks specific to system backups for the Windows network while ensuring integrity and reliability of the network to include monitoring backups making sure that all backups are completed successfully.
Optimizes system operations, security, reporting, and logging of system activities by maintaining knowledge of procedural languages and system administration tools.
Aides in planning and testing Disaster Recovery plans.
Monitors and maintains the Data Center in an optimal environment.
Performs various data systems operations such as opening tracking tickets for service interruptions; taking predetermined, diagnostic or remediation action where defined; and maintain incident management reporting.
Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalency.
College course work in MIS, computer operations or related field preferred.
Minimum three to five (3 – 5) years Enterprise Data Center operations or related experience.
Strong knowledge of FileTransfer and associated protocols, such as: Standard File Transfer, Secure File Transfer, SSH, PGP Encryption and Server and Client configuration.
Strong knowledge of Windows backup – knowledge of Tivoli Storage Manager preferred.
Working knowledge of Windows administration, AS/400 operations, and Networking protocols preferred.
Knowledge of GlobalScape EFT server preferred.
Able to operate most general office machines and have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem resolution skills.
Strong interpersonal, analytical, and detailed-oriented skills.
Able to work in a high pressure, time-intensive customer service environment.
Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with users, customers, vendors and management.
Able to work independently and exercise sound judgment in dealing with highly confidential information.
Able to lift, push, or pull up to 20 - 30 lbs. of computer equipment, boxes, or peripherals, as needed.
Able to kneel, crouch, stoop, bend, or reach to service equipment.
Able to sit for long periods of time while monitoring computer systems.
