Boeing Global Services (BGS) is searching for a Mid-LevelDangerous Goods - Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) team in San Antonio, TX.

The selected candidate will serve as subject matter expert and site focal for Dangerous Goods (DG) at the San Antonio site, deploying Boeing Global Services' standards for DG compliance oversight. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide Occupational Safety support to Materials Management organization as a member of the site EHS organization.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the BGS Regulatory Compliance Team to ensure compliance with dangerous goods (DG) regulations including 49 CFR and ICAO/IATA

    • Serves as site subject matter expert in area of DG in transportation

    • Performs programs reviews, investigates incidents and provides corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of DG incidents

    • Performs and supports internal audits related to DG and takes the lead on corrective action plan development and deployment

    • Provides input to new business opportunities and facilities projects to ensure compliance

    • Conducts education and training to support regulatory and business requirements

    • Reviews vendor, contractor and supplier activities for EHS compliance for site processes and program goals

    • Ensures DG systems and related data are complete and accurate

    • Supports development and execution of DG management system at San Antonio Site

    • Reviews vendor, contractor and supplier activities related to DG compliance for site processes and program goals

  • Serves as occupational safety support to Materials Management Organization, as a member of site EHS team

    • Supports injury investigation

    • Serves as business focal for EHS Organization

    • Interfaces with EHS subject matter experts

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in dangerous goods, regulations and assessments

  • 5+ years of occupational safety experience in an industrial setting

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Applications

  • Availability to travel up to 10-20%

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience working with regulatory agencies related to incident investigation and/or regulatory interpretations

  • 5+ years managing compliance to occupational safety regulations

  • Current DG certifications in place with professional accreditation preferred

  • Capability to work independently, be self-motivated, and effectively work within teams to achieve common goals

  • Team player with the capability to build solid working relationships with multiple stakeholders

  • Strong communication skills, as well as organizational and time management skills

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $82,450 – $111,500
