The Opportunity: Cook I
The Cook I is an essential member of the team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests. The Cook I provides an enjoyable expertly cooked dining experience conforming to RK standards of excellence for quality, professionalism and friendliness. Cook I's ensure that all food items are prepared to exacting standards, packed and organized for success. We are looking for an individual who poses an affinity for guest service! This position requires an applicant with a good level of food knowledge and experience as well as the ability to manage and execute events on own or with a team.
Candidates must have driving ability and able to pass driver background check. Candidates must have solid personal presentation and interpersonal skills. The ability to perform this position to RK Standards and learn the Sequence of Service is required.
Responsibilities of Cook I
· Run the day to day operation of assigned station in the kitchen.
· Self driven, with the ability to prep, pack and execute functions
· Ability to communicate to fellow associates and team in regards to functions and how the team will work together
· Communicate with the Sous Chefs, Executive Sous and the Executive Chef regarding menu items, problem situations or shortages.
· Work closely with standard recipes and plate presentations in order to maintain standards of quality in production and presentation.
· Ability to flex and conform to challenges presented during events and catering
· Maintain a good working relationship with other employees.
· Store items properly at the end of the shift.
· Ensure a clean, neat and organized work area and kitchen
· Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of RK.
· Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by management and staff.
· Follow all guidelines for timely food service to guests while coordinating with captains.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills of Cook I
· 3-5 years of experience in similar kitchen/catering/hotel operation.
· Must drive a box truck, 16 ft usually
· Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities. This may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
· Candidates must have excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
· This position requires the ability to lift up to 40lb.
· Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in the United States
· Must be able to drive, transport equipment and prepped food is highly preferred.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
