Under direct supervision, responsible for various clerical duties, refund request letters, prepares refund vouchers, prints back for refund checks and other duties as assigned.

Ability to break down and clear credit on patient accounts either due to credit or insurance credit. Beginner Experience with reading/working with all types of Medical EOBs (explanation of benefits). Beginner Knowledge of Primary, Secondary and tertiary insurance payments. Beginner Knowledge of Copayments/Coinsurance and Deductible balances. Beginner Reposting of contractual adjustments/insurance payments to patients accounts if needed to resolve credit. Beginner

EDUCATION:

• HS Degree or Equivalent Required

EXPERIENCE:

• One (1) year of experience is required

Review/research credit on patients account to determine reason for credit and/or if a refund needs to be issued to patient. Preparing refund vouchers to patients. Print back up EOB's to attach to refund checks to mail out. Review all refund request correspondence, enter comments onto patient's account. Performs all other duties as assigned.
