Provides direct nursing care to patients in a healthcare facility. Responsible for preparing equipment and aiding physician during treatment and examination of patients. May lead or mentor lower level team members.

This role is a Non-clinical role with no direct patient care responsibilities. Focuses on providing clinical guidance, oversight of nursing staff, and educational support


  • Functions within the required nursing process as defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
  • Supports the mission, vision and patient promise throughout all interactions.
  • Communicates effectively, written and verbally.
  • Analytical thinking – this role requires analyzing information and using logic to coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
  • Participates as an integral part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing the highest quality of care to the patient.
  • Meets all training and competency requirements.

EDUCATION:

  • Associate’s degree is required
  • Bachelors degree highly preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • Five (5) years of professional nursing experience is required

Licenses/Certification:

  • Current Texas RN license Required
  • CPR Certification Required

  • Demonstrates advanced skills in the delivery of physical examinations of patients, performing complex medical testing and providing physician interpretations of results, consulting with physicians and implementing treatment plan; administers medications and injections as needed.
  • Ensures the clinic flow runs smoothly; works closely with assigned scheduler to ensure referrals, follow-up appointments, diagnostic tests are scheduled accordingly.
  • Triages patient calls and works closely with call center team members.
  • Assists and arranges for hospital admissions as needed.
  • Follows-up on diagnostic tests, labs and ensures they are reported to the medical provider.
  • Refers patients as needed to appropriate specialist as ordered by physician, consults and collaborates with other members of the health care team, schedules follow-up appointments, weekly check appointments, and procedure appointments.
  • Educates patients and family members.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
