Under general supervision, responsible for providing journey-level skills to repair and maintain air distribution system equipment. Inspects, tests, adjusts and balances heating, cooling and ventilating systems using specialized tools and test equipment to attain specified performance standards.
Schedule: Monday-Friday from 7:45am to 4:15pm
- Skilled in air distribution system repair in a large, complex institutional environment.
- Skilled in using specialized tools and test equipment, such as pitot tube, manometer, anemometer, velometer, balometer, psychrometer and thermometer to isolate problems and determine where adjustments are necessary.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Good customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and directed; takes ownership for deliverables and deadlines.
- Great oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of a computer running Windows Operating System.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a valid state of Texas driver's license and have a clean driving record.
- Services and maintains building and facility HVAC systems and equipment.
- Repairs, replaces or adjusts worn or broken parts.
- Checks and measures air flow; monitors temperature of water entering/leaving coils; adjusts belt drives on fans to change required air delivery.
- Measures water flow through coils to calculate required flow and adjusts controls to assure proper delivery.
- Monitors pressure and flow of the air distribution system to ensure continued proper operation.
- Maintains records and prepares reports on repairs and services completed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
