Under direct supervision, responsible for the planning and implementation of transplantation and living donation related activities that include facilitating solid organ donor organ offers and management of renal pulsatile perfusion.


  • Demonstrated knowledge in the coordination of patient care in medical or surgical settings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and continued growth in the knowledge of tissue/organ transplantation.
  • Proficient with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
  • Detail oriented with meticulous planning and organizational skills while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

EDUCATION:
Associate's degree in nursing, Health Care Administration, Education, or health care related field is required.

EXPERIENCE:

OR and Anesthesia experience preferred. Previous or current Surgical Technicians, First Assistants, or Anesthesia Techs.


  • Serves as a liaison to transplant center clients in donation services area.
  • Registers potential recipients to the national waiting list for transplant in accordance with federal policy.
  • Coordinates the surgical recovery, allocation and transport of transplantable organs.
  • Arranges non-transplantable surgical services for non-transplant surgeries and scheduled living donor cases.
  • Completes all documentation, communication and data entry to ensure compliance with federal transplant and donation regulatory requirements.
  • Performs pulsatile perfusion on donated organ recovered for transplantation.
  • Medication and Blood Product Administration: Accurately administer protocol medications and blood products to organ perfusion machines to ensure optimal organ function for transplantation.
  • Perfusion Monitoring: Closely monitor organ perfusion parameters, including vital signs, blood gases, and flow rates, to identify and address potential issues.
  • Machine Operation: Operate and maintain organ perfusion machines, ensuring their proper functioning and calibration.
  • Protocol Adherence: Strictly adhere to established organ perfusion protocols to maintain quality standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Data Recording and Documentation: Accurately document all procedures, medication administration, and perfusion parameters in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot technical issues with perfusion machines and organ perfusion processes.
  • Quality Assurance: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization and standardization.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
