Agreements Specialist-Senior

Under minimal supervision, skillfully assists in the negotiation and execution of sponsored research agreements, clinical study agreements, outgoing sub-awards and other agreements. Responsible for incoming agreements from receipt in office to execution of contract.
Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex varied situations. Ability to arrive at accurate conclusions and solutions by visualizing new potentials, and by identifying, defining and analyzing problems and situations using rational and intuitive processes. Proven ability to work across departments, quickly establishing rapport with academic and administrative personnel as well as faculty. Exhibits accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work for quality.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree is required.
Experience:
Five (5) years experience in sponsored programs administration, clinical research management, agreement negotiation, or similar experience is required.
Works with faculty and staff to prepare agreements; negotiates contract terms and financial issues with for-profit and other sectors. Reviews more complex agreements for compliance with Institutional policies and procedures. Negotiates, finalizes, and recommends for execution complex agreement types including clinical studies, confidential disclosures, testing, and laboratory study agreements. Interacts with faculty, and administrative staff, and department leadership in the development, negotiation and finalization of agreements. Interacts with other Institutional departments involved in the research enterprise to resolve contract issues and confirm contract arrangements. Assists in the development of training programs and/or materials regarding the contract initiation process and life cycle of a sponsored research agreement including institutional compliance requirements. Performs all other duties as assigned.
