Responsible for the operation and maintenance of high-pressure steam and electrical generating plants and central refrigeration plants and all utility distribution systems.
- Knowledgeable in utility operations management, including HVAC, steam and chilled water, air and vacuum systems, and basic knowledge of reverse osmosis and deionized water systems.
- Analytical and decision making skills.

- Plans, assigns, and oversees work of subordinate employees operating all utility systems equipment.
- Plans and directs activities relative to the maintenance of equipment, machinery, and building utility systems.
- Maintains records of maintenance activities for each piece of production equipment and machinery so as to assess and monitor maintenance effectiveness and trends.
- Continually assesses maintenance activities and processes to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Develops and implements maintenance policies and procedures.
- Ensures that all employees are trained on safety and quality standards to ensure the department consistently meets established objectives.
- Management duties include interviewing, selecting and training of employees; planning and directing work, coaching and evaluating performance.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
