Open Rank for Assistant, Associate, Professor/Clinical, Associate Dean, Community Engagement

The University of Texas San Antonio, School Dentistry, is seeking applications for a full-time position of a Non-Tenure Track faculty at Open Rank, Assistant, Associate or Professor/Clinical level, Associate Dean, of Community Engagement. The academic home will be determined based on the specialty of the candidate selected from one of the following departments: Comprehensive Dentistry, Developmental Dentistry, Endodontics, Periodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, or Predoctoral Dental Education. Rank will be evaluated on professional and academic experience.

The Associate Dean, Community Engagement, will be responsible for leadership, supervision, and coordination of the following: a) educational programs and clinical services in Laredo and South Texas; b) acquisition and management of extramural funding for clinical and research efforts focused on community services; c) School of Dentistry community service and community engagement; d) community partnerships and foundation relations, including community programs and contracts in collaboration with specialty departments; e) clinical faculty development at the Laredo campus; and f) strategic planning as according to the school mission.

Qualifications are:

• DDS degree or foreign equivalent dental qualification.

• Eligibility for and possession of an active Texas dental license by the start date

• At least 10 years experience preferred, supervising students in a clinical setting or in direct delivery of patient care

• Active service on national and/or international professional committees

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish strongly preferred
