General Non-Invasive Cardiology faculty (Assistant/Associate Professor)

UT Health San Antonio, Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, is seeking a general non-invasive cardiologist faculty to join its academic cardiovascular program at the assistant or associate professor level. This position emphasizes high-volume clinical care, procedural excellence in non-invasive cardiology, and clinical teaching within an academic medical center. While the primary focus is general non-invasive cardiology, we welcome candidates with specialized expertise in Cardio-Oncology and/or Sports Cardiology.

The ideal candidate will be patient-centered, collegial, and committed to delivering outstanding cardiovascular care while supporting the education of trainees and the clinical mission of UT Health San Antonio.

Qualified individual must have an MD or DO degree. Candidates should have completed an approved cardiovascular disease fellowship and must be board certified or board eligible in cardiovascular disease. In addition, individual must be eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Texas and can obtain hospital privileges at UT Health–affiliated facilities as well as at UT Health Multispecialty and Research Hospital. Clinical

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient general cardiology care with limited inpatient service responsibilities as assigned
  • Participate in consultative cardiology services at affiliated hospitals and clinics
  • Interpret and perform non-invasive cardiovascular procedures, including:
    • Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE)
    • Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
    • Stress testing (exercise and pharmacologic; stress echo preferred)
    • Ambulatory rhythm monitoring and ECG interpretation
  • Collaborate with subspecialty cardiology (interventional, electrophysiology, advanced imaging, heart failure) and cardiovascular surgery
  • Participate in an equitable call schedule aligned with divisional needs
  • Contribute to access expansion, clinic growth, and service line development at our various UT clinic locations and our UT Health Multispecialty and Research Hospital in the South Texas Medical Center

Teaching & Academic

  • Provide clinical teaching and supervision of medical students, internal medicine residents, and cardiology fellows
  • Participate in case conferences, fellow education, and divisional conferences
  • Scholarly activity is encouraged and may include clinical outcomes research, quality improvement, or educational scholarship, though protected research time is limited in this role
