Epilepsy Specialist (Open Rank)
The Department of Neurology of the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is seeking a clinical/academic faculty epileptologist to provide superb clinical care, undertake innovative and important collaborative research, and contribute to the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.
The South Texas Comprehensive Epilepsy Program is the only Level IV NAEC-accredited program in San Antonio and South Texas with seven adult epileptologists, four pediatric epileptologists, an epilepsy surgeon, and three neuropsychologists. Clinical responsibilities include attending the 10-bed adult Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, reading in- and outpatient EEG studies, neuro ICU continuous EEG studies, and supporting outpatient clinics.
Minimum requirements include an MD/DO degree, completion of an ACGME-accredited neurology residency, and completion of a one-year fellowship in epilepsy or clinical neurophysiology, with emphasis on EEG/epilepsy. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology and Epilepsy. Preferred qualifications include completion of a two-year fellowship training program, Spanish language skills, and prior research experience.
