Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track)

The School of Nursing at UT Health San Antonio invites scholars to apply for a full-time Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) rank. Required applicants must have completed a doctoral degree from an accredited program. Veteran status would be given preference.

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

· Support the integration of SON research and non-research faculty affinity group to advance mutual scholarly productivity and research funding

· Support faculty in their interactions with the ONRS and OSP

· Coordinate faculty training on strategic communication and translating/transforming service programs and academic products for extramural funding (preferable NIH funding) and public-facing publications.

· Lead/assist faculty grant/paper writing and peer review groups

· Participation in academic nursing scholarship

· Submitting applications for external funding of research

· Support the research, teaching, and practice mission of the School of Nursing

· Some evenings and weekends may be required

· Building partnership with external stakeholders and community partners

· Engage with multi-agency military and veteran research and programs

Qualifications – The successful candidate will have:

· A doctoral degree is required.

· Previous project management experience

· Grant writing experience

· Experience with military and veteran programs and/or research

· Previous experience with grant writing workshops and teaching is preferred.

· Interpersonal skills

School of Nursing

As San Antonio’s only NLN-designated Center of Excellence in Nursing Education, the School of Nursing leads academic nursing through innovative teaching, high-quality research, compassionate care, and impactful community service across South Texas and beyond.
