Specialist (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) - Nephrology

The Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology, in the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is seeking for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with strong Nephrology experience for the full-time academic faculty position of Specialist.

This position will join the clinical service, composed of Nephrologist and advanced practice providers. This individual will conduct evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with complex illnesses in both the inpatient, outpatient dialysis clinics, and outpatient clinics. The APP will be expected to develop expertise in treatment of dialysis dependent end stage renal disease, chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, hypertension, metabolic and electrolyte disorders.

Candidates must be a Master’s prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program, current RN license and certified as a Nurse Practitioner. Physician Assistant should be accredited from a PA program with current certification by NCCPA and have a license issued by the Texas State Board of Medical practice. Basic Life support/Advanced life support certification is required. New graduates with prior dialysis or nephrology experience will be considered.
