The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio (UTHSA), is seeking a qualified and motivated Neuropathologist with strong diagnostic skills to join our faculty. The ideal candidate must hold an MD or equivalent degree and be board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology by the American Board of Pathology. The faculty member must also possess or be eligible to obtain a Texas medical license. Clinical responsibilities will include intraoperative neurosurgical consultations, interpretation of permanent sections, ophthalmic pathology, muscle and nerve biopsies, autopsy brains, and neuropathology consultations, including collaboration with the medical examiner’s office.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is actively involved in the education of residents and offers fellowships in surgical pathology, cytopathology, clinical informatics, hematopathology, and transfusion medicine. The successful candidate will have opportunities to engage in both clinical and bench research in collaboration with colleagues across the medical school, including at the NCI-designated Mays Cancer Center, the Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute and the Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s & Neurodegenerative Diseases.
