Responsibilities take place at UTSA’s clinic on campus serving the mental-health needs of enrolled students through counseling, and campus advocacy. Responsible for evaluating individual needs and create a custom treatment plan. Provides short-term individual therapy, and group therapy to improve mental health and coping skills on campus. Connects students to institute and community resources needed to improve quality of life. Collaborative care with other providers in clinic for overall care of students.
- Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.
- Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.
- Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment.
- Holidays: 12 set paid holidays each year.

Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with students and other clinicians and providers in clinic.
Ability to work independently with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Education:
Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, or related degree is required with active Texas-state license required.
Experience cannot be substituted for degree.

Experience:
Preferred, two (2) years of Counseling, Social Work or related clinical experience is required.

License and Certification:
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is required.

Required Skills:
Preferred, two (2) years of Counseling, Social Worker or related clinical experience clinical experience with active Texas-state license is required.
Strong foundation in clinical skills to include understanding of short-term counseling model needed.
This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48
Evaluates individuals’ needs and create a custom treatment plan and provide individual therapy to improve mental health and coping skills.
Facilitates and leads various therapeutic and support groups for students to develop appropriate coping mechanisms.
Develops and supports campus engaging activities for students to promote mental health and encourage involvement and use of services.
Coordinates with other providers, agencies and community resources to provide comprehensive care.
Connects students to campus services and community resources needed to improve quality of life.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
